Maths champs meet again
THE CHAMPS of Maths (CoM) group returned into action just before the Easter holidays and saw 25 students from a range of local schools take part.
The Mathematics Problem Solving Workshop took place at Maiden Erlegh School in Earley on Sunday, March 25.
Pupils from Years 6, 7 and 8 in Earley, Wokingham, Reading and London attended the highly interactive, engaging and motivational workshop.
This is the third year in a row for these workshops and so far our best efforts have helped shape around 250 students to develop and sharpen their mathematical skills.
The main focus of Champs of Maths Group, headed by Akshat Mehta and Satnam Arora, is to develop and sharpen in-depth mathematical problem solving skills in secondary school students and provide them with key techniques, tricks and methodologies to tackle simple, medium complexity and challenging problems that appear in Maths Challenges and Competitions (individual as well as team) held all across the UK and in Schools.
CoM organisers said that these preparations also help students in securing excellent grades in GCSEs and further down while they are in AS/A levels.
The next set of workshops will be held in Maiden Erlegh School, along with a tuition session for GCSE maths on Sunday, April 15. Registrations are now open.
