Wokingham Today

We’re super excited about our next great gig

WE were blown away by the response to our first ever Beyond the Download Presents show, that saw Vinyl Staircase, The Keep Cats, and Petra Cohortem all rip the roof off the Time Machine with their high energy, infectious sets.

We’re super excited, for our second show, to bring in three more incredible local acts, Mellor, Kevin and the Vandals, and Roves, to Wokingham for a night of great music, good company, and an electric atmosphere.

Headlining the show is Mellor, an alternative rock band based in Reading.

Formed in 2011, they have been gigging across the UK since, building a strong local following and are quickly making waves across the country with their addictive songs and their force of nature live show.

Armed with songs like Win Me Over, and recent single Bone Idle, their lively alt-rock inspired sound will instantly convert you into a fan.

You’ll love them if you’re a fan of hard hitting riffs, endless energy, and a rhythm section to knock down walls.

Joining them on the bill is Basingstoke based band, Kevin and the Vandals, their latest single, Angie, showcased a band packed with fantastic song-writing talent for so early in their career.

Rip-roaring guitars, and lyrics to sing your heart out to, are the strongest features of the music; their show at the Time Machine is the perfect opportunity to catch the band at such an exciting point in their career.

Taking notes from the best energetic indie rock of the past few years, they are sure to win over new fans at the show.

Alongside them are Roves, from Wokingham, one of the most unique and exciting bands from the local area in recent years.

Their music is melodic, mesmerising, and grasps your attention, all while having a sense of intensity behind vocalist Ethan’s hypnotic voice.

They just released their new single Always, a powerful ode to a relationship, backed with lush instrumentation.

Roves have been catching the ears of the local scene rapidly, and with their fast rise in popularity, this is not a set that you’ll want to miss!

Tickets for the show are £6 in advance from beyondthedownload.uk, or £10 on the door.

Taking place at The Time Machine, Wokingham, RG41 1JB, on Saturday, April 14.
