Wokingham man arrested after hit-and-run in Hare Hatch

A MAN from Wokingham has been arrested after failing to stop following a road traffic collision on Saturday night that left a cyclist injured.

Now, Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The incident took place around 9.25pm on Saturday, April 21.

Police say that the cyclist was on the A3032 London Road close to Hare Hatch Sheeplands when there was a collision with a white Peugeot Partner van.

The van drove off, but was eventually traced and stopped on the M40 by Warwickshire and Thames Valley Roads Policing units.

The 44-year-old cyclist was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, with multiple injuries, where he remains in a serious, but stable condition.

A 40-year-old man from Wokingham was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road accident, driving a motor vehicle dangerously and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a license.

He has been released under investigation.
