A WOMAN found guilty of assaulting a man and a woman in Spencers Wood has been given an 18-month conditiona­l discharge by magistrate­s.

Katherine Cooke, 45 and from Foxborough in Swallowfie­ld, had denied the offence, which took place on January 14.

Reading Magistrate­s Court found her guilty and ordered her not to contact the victim and another woman or visit their addresses in Benham Drive, Spencers Wood or Jubilee Cottages in Basingstok­e Road. The order will expire on March 5, 2023.

She also had to pay £500 costs and £20 to victim services.

A MAN who admitted failing to turn up for community service has been given an additional seven hours to his sentence.

Steven Peter Orme, 37 and from All Saints Close in Wokingham, failed to turn up for community service on January 30 and 31 this year.

At the hearing at Reading Magistrate­s Court on March 7, he was ordered to carry out a total of 87 hours’ of work over the next 12 months.

A DRIVING ban has been given to an Earley man after being caught drink driving.

Jack Clarke, 21 and from Trout Close, was stopped by police on February 11 this year. A breath test revealed that he had 64 microgramm­es of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath.

A WINNERSH man has been banned from driving for 12 months after being caught driving while under the influence of drugs.

Goddard, 27 and from Sandstone Close, was stopped in Hyde

End Road on December 20 last year. A drugs test found Delta9-Tetrahydro­cannabino, an ingredient in cannabis, in his bloodstrea­m.

As well as the 12-month ban, the 27-year-old from Sandstone Close was fined £200, ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 to victim services.

A WOODLEY man has been given a 16-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 weeks after failing to carry out community service.

Craig Dexter, 33 and from Drovers Way, had originally been given 180 hours of community service after being stopped in Reading while driving a stolen car on September 16 last year.

He failed to stop after an accident in Reading Road, Winnersh and was later caught by police in Reading.

At a hearing at Reading Magistrate­s Court on March 8, Dexter admitted failing to turn up for community service on January 21 and 28 this year. The custodial sentence was deemed appropriat­e as it was felt Dexter had shown a wilful and persistent failure to comply with his original sentence.

ALMARIND ISMAILI has been remanded on bail after being accused of assaulting two men from Shinfield. He is also accused of sending a threatenin­g email to a woman.

He denies all the charges.

Ismaili, 29 and from Emmer Green Court in Caversham, is alleged to have beaten the men on August 8 last year.

His case will be heard at Reading Magistrate­s Court on May 8.

A MAN has pleaded not guilty to stealing flea treatment from an Earley pet store.

Desmond Peter Lines, 45 and from Bruce Road in Woodley, denies taking the Front Line Flea Treatment worth £1,169.67 from the Just For Pets store in the Chalfont Square Retail Park on July 19 last

year. The store has since closed down.

As Lines denies the charge, he has been remanded on bail until April 30 where he will appear at Reading Magistrate­s Court for a trial.

STEALING food from a supermarke­t in Hungerford has seen a man from Wargrave given a 24 month conditiona­l discharge.

Neil Joseph Manning, also known and Neill, pleaded guilty to taking £89.96 worth of food from a branch of the Co-op.

At the hearing at Reading Magistrate­s Court on March 8, the 34-year-old from Woodcliffe Almshouses in Wargrave, was ordered to pay £89.96 compensati­on, £85 costs and £20 to victim services. He was ordered to make payments of £5 a week from April 5.

A MAN who was caught driving while under the influence of drugs has been banned for 12 months.

Christian Dominic Parkinson, 35 and from Ridlington Close, pleaded guilty to being stopped in Hartland Road, Reading on December 29 last year. A blood test revealed that he has 16.0 micrograms of Delta-9Tetrahydr­ocannabino­l, found in marijuana, in his bloodstrea­m.

As well as losing his licence, he was fined £125, ordered to pay £85 and £30 to victim services.

In a second charge, he pleaded guilty to being possession of cannabis when he was stopped in Hartland Road. He was fined £75 for this.
