Victory cements third place for Rams

REDINGENSIANS secured third spot with a hard-fought win at in-form Clifton.
With just one game to play, Rams can now not be caught in third as they moved to 107 points by bringing to an end Clifton’s five-game winning run.
The hosts took an early lead after some brilliance from scrum-half Mitch Spencer as he chipped through before latching onto the loose ball and going over in the corner.
But Rams responded with a try of their own from Josh Collis before a penalty try extended the lead midway through the first half.
Jamar Richardson scored Redingensians’ third try of the afternoon, converting himself to open up a 21-5 advantage, but that was reduced to 21-12 just before half-time.
Ellis Jones crossed the whitewash soon after the restart to preserve the comfortable lead, but Clifton would not roll over with Spencer scoring for the second time.
But the game was eventually taken away from the hosts in the 70th minute when Miles Lloyd kicked over a pressure penalty to seal a 29-19 win.
Rams end the season at home to mid-table Henley Hawks on Saturday (3pm).
