Scouts clean up with donation from housebuilder
TO CELEBRATE the launch of new showhomes in Three Mile Cross, housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has made a £1,500 donation to the local Scout group.
Members of the 1st Shinfield (St Mary’s) group received the gift earlier this month after takingpart in a charity car wash.
The money will go towards a new marquee for the group to use.
The wash took place as Taylor Wimpey launched two new show homes at its Orchard Rise development.
The open event allowed local residents the opportunity to get a feel for what it could be like to live at the development by looking around the new four- and five-bedroom show homes.
And while they explored the carefully devised homes, they also had the luxury of having their car washed by the scouts.
Nikki Gibson, Sales and
Marketing Director at Taylor
Wimpey West London, said: “The event was a great success and it was lovely to have the Scouts from 1st Shinfield (St Mary’s) Scout group on hand to wash cars and raise money for a good cause.
“Being able to work with local organisations like the Scouts, that surround our developments, means a great deal to us and it’s great to know that we can contribute to charities in the local community.”
Currently available at Orchard Rise are a number homes including one bedroom apartments and two-, fourand five-bedroom homes starting from £250,000.
