ELLIS JONES bagged a hat-trick as Redingensians rounded off their most successful ever season with their biggest win of the campaign.

Dubbed the “Battle of the Thames”, Rams stormed to victory over Henley in front of over 500 fans at Old Bath Road, running in eight tries without reply to win 51-0.

“I thought it was a cracking game of rugby,” said Rams head coach Seb Reynolds.

“It was one of those games you get a few times in a career when all the elements you’ve been working on come together.

“The defence was outstanding and conceding no points is as good a success as scoring 50.

“Obviously our attack was excellent as well and three of our tries were some of the best I’ve seen all season.”

The hosts wasted little time in getting in front with Ben Henderson ploughing across the line.

An Adrian Jarvis penalty added to the scores midway through the first period before tries from Conor Corrigan and Miles Lloyd opened up a 22-0 half-time lead.

Three scores from Jones after the restart as well as Tom Vooght’s try and a brilliant team move finished off by Stevie Bryant put further gloss on the victory. Rams end the campaign third in National 2 South with 112 points.
