A fun way to honour Ollie’s memory
FAMILIES flocked to Cantley Park to enjoy a day of fun, all in aid of a very good cause.
The Ollie Young Foundation organised its annual fun day on Sunday at the Twyford Road venue, offering a wide range of activities for all ages to enjoy.
There were displays from local groups including the Lynette Stephenson Academy of Dance and Platform YP. Musical legend Pauly Zarb also performed a set and there was a martial arts demonstration from Matt Fiddes.
Around the arena were popular sideshows including a coconut shy, beat the goalie, hoopla and a test your strength machine.
Young visitors could also try their hand at hook-a-duck and a special obstacle course, while there were opportunities to play laser tag and crazy golf.
The Wokingham West Forest Round Table brought Sam the land train along, offering rides for youngsters and the inflatable slides and bouncy castles proved popular.
A circus skills area was set up next to a popular tea tent, offering specially made cakes and biscuits including some Ollie Stars.
Other local charities, including Cystic Fibrosis, had stalls to raise their own funds, and there were also crafts and food to try including Sand Art and fudge.
The event ended with the drawing of a raffle, while pizza company Papa Johns had a stall on site where they pledged to hand over all takings from the day to the charity.
