AN EXTRA Care service has received a ‘Good’ rating in all areas following a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.

Optalis Extra Care Berkshire says it provides personal care and support to around 60 individual­s, ranging from help with personal care to domestic tasks.

Currently, support is delivered in Alexandra Place and the recently opened Fosters in Woodley, Beeches Manor in Wokingham and The Birches in Earley.

Individual­s live in their own homes and, dependent on care needs, varied levels of support are provided through a personalis­ed Extra Care Service.

Inspectors from the CQC noted that the personalis­ed care and support that meets individual­s’ needs and that people were treated with respect and dignity.

One customer told the CQC: “I have settled in well and am happy here.

All the staff are very helpful, friendly and willing to help with any task. I am perfectly happy with the overall service.”

Optalis is local authority trading company owned by and delivering adult social care on behalf of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and Wokingham Borough Council.

Helen Woodland, its Assistant Director of provider services, said: “It’s a whole team approach that has led to our positive CQC result and we are very proud that we have scored Good across all areas of the inspection.”
