An open letter to John Redwood

-

I feel compelled to write to you. I know that I cannot ever sway your stance or your ideology regarding our membership of the European Union, and I also know that it would be a waste of my valuable time to try and do so.

However, in light of the fact that you KNOW the irrevocable damage that our leaving the EU will do to my beloved country just by the fact that you have advised your hedge fund investors to invest elsewhere out of the UK (how do you get time to manage a hedge fund at a huge salary while still working as a full-time MP is beyond me?), I still feel compelled to write to you.

I do not want to get into any discussion with you about your ideology as I have read extensively about it and know it would be useless for me to get into any political argument with you to try and reason with you regarding your ideological and entirely destructive Brexit as that would be useless. Wouldn’t it?

However, I just want to let you know that I am watching you and that I see what you are doing and that I will remember you and what you have done and you WILL be held accountable.

I will also do everything in my power to work against your destructive policies and spread the word amongst whomever I can about what you are doing.

This government and the hard right cabal within the cabinet of which you are part are determined to steer this country on a ruinous course – not only economically but culturally and socially.

The harm your intended Brexit will do to millions of innocent people in this country who have been lied to during the dreadful and corrupt Leave campaign will be immeasurable. You will ruin our children’s futures.

Your colleagues have already shown by their very actions that they know of the impending damage our leaving the EU will do – already wealthy Nigel Lawson has applied for permanent residency in France, uberwealthy Rees-Mogg has moved his business to Ireland, similarly wealthy Ashcroft has also advised his investors to invest off-shore and not in the UK, and Nigel Farage and family have applied for German passports – their hypocrisy and yours are of biblical proportions.

Ian Duncan Smith will be protected by his millions and I am sure you are not short of a bob or two made out of your banking business plus your MP’s salary.

But I am making it my business to inform those innocent members of the UK who are not economically gold plated like you and your colleagues and who voted for your Brexit that they were deceived.

You WILL be held accountable.

A copy of this letter will be sent to The Wokingham Paper.
