Torchlit procession in Wokingham

- David Gold from Wokingham Fireworks writes:

This year is the 30th anniversary of the Wokingham Fireworks Charity Spectacular.

Over the years there have been a number of changes to enhance your experience. Having started with your local Unicorn Club – Windsor Forest

– we were shortly joined by Thames West Unicorn then, as the event grew, Wokingham and Easthampstead Rotary Clubs and Wokingham Lions joined to form The Wokingham Fireworks Charitable Trust.

Five years ago we introduced on- line programme sales via our website which were then mailed out.

This year we have revised this service, with the help of EventBrite, so that you can now buy your tickets on line and print them in the comfort of your own home.

The process is very simple, just follow the link on our website - www. wokingham-fireworks.co.uk - and you can have your tickets in hand within a few minutes.

These will be scanned on your arrival at the field. You can, of course, still purchase entrance programmes from a number of retailers such as Barclays Bank, Newbury Building Society, Tesco, Purple Butterfly, Antique Rose and the Wokingham Information Centre.

Advanced sales for this years’ event are up on 2017 and we would encourage everyone to take advantage of the discounted price of £5 per person (children seven and under go free). These tickets are available until Friday 2nd November after which the price will rise to £7.50 per person. Once again, children aged seven and under go free.

Please remember all profits from this event are donated to local charities. We would like to thank all of our sponsors and of course our customers for their continued support.

Why not join us at 6pm for the traditional torchlight procession, starting from Market Place, Wokingham, led by St Sebastians Band and the Town and Borough Mayors.

The display at Cantley Fields, where there is also a Funfair and food vendors, commences at 7.30pm

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

We will have entries from the poster competition on our website, wokingham. today
