A HOMELESS woman caught in Arborfield in possession of two death stars has been given a 12-week suspended jail sentence.

Nichola Ann Cole, 39, was stopped in School Road on January 31 this year.

She had previously pleaded not guilty to the offence but when she appeared at Reading Magistrate­s Court on September 27, she changed her plea to guilty.

The prison sentence has been suspended for 12 months. She was also ordered to pay £100 costs, £85 to victim services and the death stars were destroyed by the police.

A 26-year-old from Shinfield has been sent to Reading Crown Court for sentencing after pleading guilty to a series of drug-related offences.

Max Michael Gough, from Westlands Avenue, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s Court on September 28, where he was found guilty of:

Possession with intent to supply heroin, namely a quantity of diamorphin­e, with intent to supply. This offence took place in Wokingham on September 26

Possession with intent to supply cocaine, on the same day also in Wokingham

Failing to disclose PIN codes for three mobile phones in Wokingham on September 27.

A CROWTHORNE man has been committed to Reading Crown Court for sentencing after pleading guilty to making indecent photograph­s of children. Stephen Houlihan, 47 and from Greenwood Road, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s Court on October 2 where he admitted three counts of making the pornograph­ic images at an address in Wokingham on or before November 25, 2015. One was deemed to be category A, the most severe, the second category B and the third category C.

Houlihan, also known as

Steve, pleaded guilty to a fourth charge of possessing an extreme pornograph­ic image that portrayed a person performing sexual intercours­e with a dog.

Under the terms of his bail, Houlihan is not to have any unsupervis­ed contact with a child aged 18 or under unless accompanie­d by an adult.

He will also be placed on the Sexual Offences Act 2003 register.

A THIEF from Earley has been ordered not to enter Reading’s town centre for the next six months.

Robert David Potter, 44 and from Chiltern Crescent, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s Court on October 2 where he admitted the following charges:

On September 10 this year, stealing a duvet set worth £84.99 from Debenhams in The Oracle

On September 1 this year, stole a bum bug worth £22 from Schuh in The Oracle

On October 1, stole three women’s scarves worth £82 from Monsoon in Broad Street, Reading

And on October 1, breached a bail condition by entering Reading town centre.

Potter is ordered to pay costs of £85 and £85 to Victim Services at a rate of £20 per month.

DANGEROUS driving has seen a 20-year-old banned from driving for 15 months.

Daniaal Khan, from The Drive in Earley, was stopped by police on September 20, 2017 after being seen driving on Vastern Road, Caversham Road and the A33, both in Reading.

He was also found guilty of driving a vehicle without insurance. A separate charge of having a fake insurance certificat­e designed to deceive people into thinking it was real was dismissed.

In addition to the fine, Khan has to pay £620 costs and £85 to victim services and undertake 150 hours of community service over the next 12 months.

A YOUNG DRIVER from Lower Earley has been given 10 points on his licence for drink-driving.

Daniel Leigh Young, 25 and from Chilcombe Way, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s Court on October 4 where he pleaded guilty to the offence.

On September 15, Young was stopped in Barncroft Drive where

he was found to have had 75 microgramm­es of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath, over the above limit.

In addition to the points, he was fined £243, ordered to pay

£85 costs and £30 to victim services. He is to pay at a rate of £25 per week.

USING threatenin­g/abusive words or behaviour saw a Wokingham man fined £250.

Audrius Cepulis, 31 and from Peach Street, was stopped by police on September 5 this year after using the language within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress.

In addition to the fine, Cepulis was ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 to victim services.

A WOODLEY woman has been remanded on unconditio­nal bail until December 3 after being accused of a string of offences.

Louise Sally Beasley, 24 and from Drovers Way, pleads guilty to:

Using threatenin­g/abusive words/behaviour of disorderly behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress on July 5 in Woodley

Assaulting a police officer in Woodley, also on July 5.

Beasley denies a third charge that on July 3 she had damaged a CCTV camera at a neighbouri­ng property in Drover Way.

Her initial hearing was hearing Reading Magistrate­s Court on October 5.
