THAMES VALLEY PREMIER LEAGUE

-

DAN MONEY was on target as Berks County earned an impressive draw against Reading YMCA at Lowther Road.

Berks are still seeking their first Premier Division win of the campaign while YMCA are unbeaten, but the hosts led 2-1 at half-time thanks to Money’s goal and a Ben Hall penalty.

But Reading battled back to earn a share of the spoils with a late equaliser.

That result lifts Berks County off the foot of the table where they have now been replaced by WOODLEY UNITED ROYALS, following their defeat at home to Burghfield. Dylan Chaffin and Jack Parris found the net for Woodley, but could not prevent a 3-2 loss.

WOKINGHAM AND EMMBROOK RESERVES also lost again, going down 2-0 at Westwood United.

In Division One, James Payne netted a hat-trick as FINCHAMPSTEAD drew 4-4 at Maidenhead Town.

Trailing 1-0 at the break, Finch stormed into life after the restart to quickly go ahead through two Payne strikes.

Substitute Sean Hanley then completed the turnaround and the game continued to twist with Payne completing his treble with 20 minutes to go.

But Maidenhead regrouped to battle back from 4-2 behind to draw, snatching a 93rd minute equaliser.

HURST bounced back from defeat last time out to also draw, 2-2 against Eldon Celtic with Marc Jones and Sam Weston on target.

In Division Two, AFC CORINTHIANS bounced back from recent league struggles to beat Marlow United Reserves at Cantley Park.

Having lost their last two games 6-0 and 8-1, Corinthians picked up three vital points with goals from Oluwanisunayomi Disun-Okebode and Bailey Fullbrook.

BERKS COUNTY RESERVES sit top of Division Three after a 2-0 win over Taplow United A thanks to Richard Cumner and Mihai Llhat strikes while TWYFORD AND RUSCOMBE lost 1-0 at Goring United Reserves.

In the same league, it was a special day for teenager Tommaso Morettin as his late goal earned WOODLEY UNITED A a 1-1 draw against Pangbourne.

Elsewhere, second-half goals from Matthew Swain and Matt Panton earned BERKS

COUNTY ROVERS a win over Westwood United Development, AFC CORINTHIANS A beat Taplow United Reserves and HARCHESTER HAWKS were knocked out of the Berks and Bucks Intermediate Cup with a 5-2 loss against Lambourne Sports, despite a Phillip Wright brace.
