Man assaulted in Elms Road

ANOTHER late night assault has taken place in Wokingham’s town centre just weeks after two similar events.

In the early hours of Friday, December 28, Thames Valley Police was called to Elms Road in Wokingham – the road that divides Elms Field – following reports of the incident, which took place around 12.14am.

A number of police vehicles were present including a van.

Now they are appealing for witnesses to come forward to help them with their enquiries.

A spokespers­on for the force told The Wokingham Paper: “Officers attended the scene where a man in his thirties had been assaulted.

“The man was taken to hospital but has since been discharged. “No arrests have been made.

“Any witnesses are asked to call 101 and quote 4318039373­4.”

There were two attacks in Wokingham on Saturday, December 1.

In one, a man was left at the entrance of a car park in Wokingham’s town centre in a suspected GBH attack.

He was taken to the

Royal Berkshire Hospital with a head injury and has since been discharged from hospital.

And in the second, a good Samaritan who attempted to break up a fight in Wokingham’s town centre was hit over the head with a spanner.

This incident took place in Wellington Road on Saturday, December 1 at 1.30am – an hour after the first attack.
