DECEMBER was an excellent month and we really enjoyed all our festive activities.

With our partners and friends in the Rotary Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh we enjoyed meeting excited families while being elves and can shaking at local garden centres raising money for local charities.

We enjoyed a joint Christmas Party with the Rotarians at Hennerton Golf Club just before Christmas.

Our president, Valerie Coughlan, invited us into her home for singing and socialising for own December meeting.

What a joy it was to sing carols and serve Christmas goodies to the residents of Lakeside Care Home. We visit them on a regular basis and they enjoy our visits.

Back down to earth, President Valerie planted a peace rose in the War Memorial area at Woodford Park, Woodley to mark the 100 year anniversary of the ending of First World

War.

We have a Craft Session and a celebration for Inner Wheel Day before our January meeting so an exciting start to 2019.

Hugh Gibbons will be speaking about the USAF bomber B17 which crashed at Winkfield at our first meeting on Thursday, January 17, at Sonning Golf Club.

This is a ‘bring a guest’ meeting so please visit our website www.innerwheelrme. org for contact information if you would like to come along.
