A READING man has been given a community order after pleading guilty to an assault.
Stefman Hamann, 59 and from Henley Wood Road, appeared at Reading Magistrates Court on November 6 where he admitted to beating a woman in Wokingham on October 8 last year.
He was ordered to take part in a rehabilitation course by November 5, 2020.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and £85 to victim services.
A MAN who was found guilty of beating an Earley woman has been ordered to carry out 60 hours’ of community service.
Simon Mark Kennish, 39 and from Kelvin Hill in Basingstoke, had pleaded not guilty when he appeared at Reading Magistrates Court on November 6 last year.
In addition to the community service, has to undertake a rehabilitation course and has been banned from contacting his victim directly or indirectly apart from on one occasion where Kennish could collect his personal belongings while accompanied by a police officer. The order lasts under further notice.
He was ordered to pay £80 compensation to his victim, and £770 costs at a rate of £75 per month.
A 38-YEAR-OLD from Earley was banned from driving for 12 months for drug driving.
James Barlow, from Redhatch Drive, was stopped by police on September 3 last year in Christchurch Road, Reading.
A drugs test found that Barlow had 3.9 microgrames per litre of blood of the drug Delta-9Tetrahydrocannabinol in his bloodstream.
Barlow pleaded guilty and was fined £80, ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 to victim services at a hearing at Reading Magistrates Court on November 7 last year.
A WOODLEY man was given a community order for harassment without violence against a woman.
Steven Nicholls, 29 and
Drovers Way, pleaded guilty when he appeared before Reading Magistrates Court on November 7 last year. He was accused of sending “numerous unwanted text messages and phonecalls” to the woman over three weeks last year.
He was ordered to take part in a rehabilitation programme, pay £85 costs and £85 to victim services.
A TWYFORD man was sent to prison for two months for stealing from a car.
Glen Mace, 37 and from Hurst Road, changed his plea to guilty when he appeared at Reading Magistrates Court on November 8 last year.
He broke into a car parked in the car park of St Michael and All Angels in Church Lane, Warfield on September 7 last year, and stole bags, bank cards, books and documents.
Three further charges of driving without an appropriate licence were dismissed by the court as no evidence was offered.
Mace was also ordered to pay £160 compensation.
A FINCHAMPSTEAD man who denies drink driving will appear before Reading Magistrates Court later this month.
Philip John Cordwell, 50 and from Vermont Woods, pleaded not guilty at a preliminary hearing held at the court on November 8 last year.
He is accused of driving along Old Wokingham Road on April 28 last year, while having 76mg microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
Cordwell has been remanded on unconditional bail until January 30, where his case will be heard.
FAILING to turn up for community service has seen a Knowl Hill man receive an increase to his community service.
Lee James Cummins, 33 from Choseley Road, appeared at Reading Magistrates Court on November 12 where he admitted the breach. As a result, he now has to undertake 71 hours of unpaid community service – an increase from the 50 originally opposed on April 24 last year.
He also had to pay costs of £75.
AN EARLEY motorist has been banned from driving for 12 months after being caught over the alcohol limit.
Emily Boyce, 22 and from Fairview Avenue, appeared at Reading Magistrates Court on November 14 last year where she admitted driving on the A4 in Charvil on October 27 last year.
A breath test showed she had 54 microgrammes of alcohol in
100 millilitres of breath.
In addition to the ban, she was fined £250 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and £30 to victim services. Her driving ban will be reduced by three months if Boyce completes a safe driving course.
A WOMAN from Crowthorne is to appear before Reading Magistrates Court on February 6 after being accused of two counts of assault. She denies the charges.
Faith Christina Nahaboo, 23 and from Fincham End Drive, appeared before the court on November 14 accused of beating a woman in Wokingham on July 8. On the same date, Nahaboo is accused of assaulting a police officer.
Nahaboo – also known as
Faith Christina, Faith Harris, Faith Nabutu and Faith Nahboo – was remanded on unconditional bail pending the hearing.
A SLOUGH man has been sentenced to 120 hours of community service after pleading guilty to assaulting a woman in Wokingham.
Joe Connor Vicker McBride, 34 and from Moreland Avenue, appeared at Reading Magistrates Court on November 15, where he admitted the offence, which took place on October 16.
McBride also admitted damaging a front door belonging to his victim and committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge order imposed on him on
August 15.
In addition to the community service, McBride has to undertake in an accredited programme.
He is also blocked from contacting the victim except through an agreed third party. He
is also barred from entering an address in Spencers Wood before November 14, 2020.
McBride had to pay compensation of £100, but there was no order for costs as compensation was prioritised.
A WOODLEY man was given a 24week prison sentence suspended for two years for failing to comply with notification requirements of the sex offenders register.
Keith Dirk Young, 40 and from Brackendene Close, appeared at Reading Magistrates Court on November 15 where he admitted failing to register an address within three days, where he stays for more than 12 hours, where a minor resides or stays.
Under the terms of his suspended sentence, Young must undertake an accredited rehabilitation programme.
Young also had to pay £85 costs and £115 to victim services.
A WOMAN from Woodley who pleaded guilty to stealing a bag and its contents has been given a 12-month conditional discharge.
Lisa Butler, 42 and from Rickman Close, appeared before Reading Magistrates Court on November 15 where she admitted taking the bag from Wokingham on May 15 last year.
She was ordered to pay compensation of £169.92, £20 to victim services and £85 costs.
DRIVING while over the alcohol limit in Reading’s town centre has seen an Earley man banned from driving for 12 months.
Zeeshan Habib, 23 and from Wokingham Road, will see his sentence get reduced by 12 weeks if he undertakes a safe driving course.
Habib was stopped by police on October 28 in Broad Street, Reading.
He was found to have 55 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
On the same day, he was found guilty of driving the car without a licence or insurance.
In addition to the driving ban, Habib was fined £250, ordered to pay £85 costs and a victim services surcharge of £35.
A FINCHAMPSTEAD man must undertake 200 hours of community service by November 18 this year after admitting that he failed to provide police with a breath specimen.
Stephen Nicholas Arnold, 46 and from Springdale, appeared at Reading Magistrates Court on November 19 last year where he changed his not guilty plea to guilty.
He has been stopped in Reading on June 16 last year where he was suspected of having driven a vehicle while under the influence, but failed to give police a breath sample.
In addition to the community service, Arnold was banned from driving for 30 months.
This will be reduced by 30 weeks on completion of a safe driving course.
