SUMAS played out a second league draw in succession, although their trip to Holyport was in stark contrast to their previous match.

Dan Bateman’s men were pegged back to draw 4-4 against Thame Rangers at Larges Lane last weekend but it was a much tighter affair on Saturday.

Neither goalkeeper was beaten at Summerleaze, as the Sumas’ run extended to just one win in six matches.

Bateman made two changes from the Thame game with Ellis Day and Aaron Rowland replacing James Clark and Elliott Rushforth, who both dropped to the bench.

And Rowland came close to breaking the deadlock early on, chipping an effort over the crossbar.

At the other end, goalkeeper Sean Woodward was grateful to see a Holyport effort strike the post.

The hosts started brightly after the restart but could not seriously test Woodward.

Sumas were dealt a blow when George Marsh was forced off through injury midway through the half but they almost got their noses in front with Ben Broadhurst denied by Jake Quelch.

Both sides ended up cancelling each other out in a game of few chances with the spoils shared.

Wokingham sit ninth in the table and go to Milton United on Saturday (3pm), a side only one place above them and level on points.

SUMAS: Woodward, Carter (c), Marsh (Rushforth), White, Dean, Broadhurst; N. Bateman, Harris, A. Rowland; C. Holland, E. Day (Clark). Subs not used: W. Day, J. Rowland, Winship.

Attendance: 50
