Youngsters in for a treat with half-term concertini
FAMILIES can enjoy a very special concert this half-term, thanks to Norden Farm Centre for the Arts.
It is organising a Concertini with The Polka Dots on Tuesday, May 28. The event is so popular that there are two sessions: 11.30am and 2pm.
A ‘Concertini’ is a short, inspirational live music experience aimed at the whole family. The purpose of each Concertini is to introduce children to different styles
of live music and musical instruments. They prepare children for the enjoyment of more formal live music events and nurture a love of music. They also provide an opportunity for parents and carers to listen to live music with their children in a relaxed community setting.
Concertini was formed in May 2015 by local musician, teacher and mum of two,
Julia Bentley Dawkes. Born into a musical family, Julia passionately believes that everyone can benefit from live music and the earlier we introduce it the better.
Recommended for under eights, the show gives children the chance to enjoy dancing to upbeat originals and cover songs, high energy dance routines and enjoy some onstage charisma.
The 11.30am show is a relaxed performance – ideal for families with babies or toddlers and children with special educational needs and disabilities.
And there’s more to Norden Farm: the arts centre will be holding daily Arts and Crafts and Storytelling sessions in the magical story den. There is also a family-friendly Café Bar with free WiFi and table top games and books to keep eager young minds entertained.
Tickets for the Half Term Concertini are £11 (£9 under 16s), Family and Friends (4 people) £36.
