TWYFORD & Ruscombe and Warfield could not be separated after both sides scored 163-9 after 40 overs as the game ended in a rare tie.

Twyford were put into bat after Warfield had won the toss and elected to field.

The opening partnership of

Robin Thompson (4) and Kiran Siddineni (10) were dismissed early in the innings.

Third into bat was Wicket Keeper Simon Burr, who joint top scored for Twyford with 28 and was partnered for much of his innings by Andrew Miller who scored 27.

Later in the innings, Razavullah Shaik scored a valuable 28 runs before Chandra Cherukuri (14) and Kiran Juluri (16) helped to increase the total with a valiant effort from the tail end as Twyford set Warfield a chase of 163.

Warfield opener Sam Laing knocked a 77 runs for his side but didn’t have a consistent partner until number four batsmen Ashley Gander entered the crease.

Gander hit a positive score of 37 runs as he helped his side hunt down the total set by Twyford. However, the strong bowling of Chandra Cherukuri (4-23) plagued the Warfield batting order as the middle and tail end of the order were dismissed for a poor return of runs.

Warfield captain Andy Douglas put his side in a commanding position when he came into bat at number eight and scored 16 runs, but Twyford stayed disciplined in the field and dismissed the next three batsmen for a combined score of just three as they each scored one run.

With just one wicket to spare, Warfield were unable to snatch victory as they ended on 163 runs at the end of the allotted overs as the match was tied.
