AT Me2Club, our young people want to attend weekly clubs, but their additional needs and disabilities can make it difficult for them to take part in swimming lessons, Beavers, football, Brownies and more.
The level of support our children need varies, due to the range of additional needs they have. By volunteering and becoming friends with one of our young people you can help them overcome their barriers to be included.
The children attend activities in Wokingham Borough and in Reading. You will need to travel to and from the activity each week via public transport or other transport methods such as: lifts, car, bike and we will reimburse any cost incurred. We have the following training courses coming up, you only need to attend one. They take place on: Saturday, September 19: 9am-5pm in Earley, Monday, October 26 and Tuesday, October 27: 5pm-9pm in Woodley and Saturday, November 28: 9am-5pm in Earley.
It’s About Time is a wellbeing service focusing on positive conversations of hope and possibility without appointment or wait time. We’re all just one thought away from where we want to be.
It’s About Time aims to provide an environment to evolve and explore the possibility of life in HD, a broader and more enriching experience.
We are looking for a volunteer Host for an online chat. Skills that are desired but not essential: listening and empathy, comfortable with facilitating group discussions, IT (familiar with Gmail and Zoom), supportive and comforting.
At ABC to Read, we believe life is better when everyone can read and express themselves confidently. Our trained reading mentors provide children with the skills and confidence they need to do just that.
We are waiting to place volunteers in schools that are requesting our support, but we need more volunteers to come forward to help with this vital service. Volunteers would be volunteering within a local school, ideally twice a week for 90 minutes in the afternoons but once a week will be considered.
Our next online training is being held on Tuesday, September 22.
We will be holding a Virtual Volunteer Recruitment Fair on Wednesday, September 26, at 11am. Visit our website or Facebook page for more details.
