WHAT’S BREWING

-

WELCOME to the latest Siren Craft Brew George & Dragon column! That’s right, there’s so much exciting stuff going on at the pub that we’ve dedicated an entire column to it.

The big news is that as of this week, we have a brand new menu available. Over the last year or so, any GnD regulars may have seen a number of menu changes, comings and goings and even total kitchen closures. After some staffing issues, we were forced to close the kitchen for a short time, as a series of food trucks came in to serve. However, with a brand new kitchen refit and a new team in the kitchen, the new menu is the best it’s ever been.

Our new head chef, Mike, has been developing this menu with an aim to deliver beautiful, locally sourced, fresh food at a good value for money. Mike is joined in the kitchen by Dillon, Emily & Maria, who before escaping the war in Ukraine was an economist with a love for food. Maria found refuge in a home nearby the pub and once Mike and (Regional Manager) Danny heard about her, they went to see if she would like to join the team. Maria is steadily learning English and brings an amazing amount of ability, talent and energy to the team.

The team’s been working hard behind the scenes to forge relationships with a host of local suppliers. These include Reeves Butchers and Village Maid Cheese, both of which are found within 8 miles of the restaurant. There’s also Henley Distilleries Gin’s behind the bar, as we aim to utilise as many of the amazing, independent local businesses as possible. So what can you expect from the new menu? Well, we now have a set menu option. Tuesday to Friday you can now get 2 courses for just £20 or 3 courses for £24 - bargain!

Food wise, we have some incredible new starters, like the Ham Hock Terrine with Piccalilli Puree on Sourdough and the Mussels, steamed in Siren Craft Brew beer!

Mains wise, there’s something for all tastes, from Berkshire Venison to Superfood Salad Bowl and crowd favourites like Fish & Chips and Pork Belly in between. There’s also our grill menu, all cooked over our brand new flame grill.

We hope to welcome you in soon! Head to the website for more info… Georgedragonpub.com
