Christmas at the double

-

‘NOTHING will make you feel more festive than Christmas music’. That’s the promise from Woodley Concert Band as it prepares for not one, but two festive shows this weekend.

The group will be performing at The Bulmershe School in Woodley on Sunday.

At 3pm, the 45-piece band will lead an hour-long children’s concert packed with festive fun, and opportunities for singing and jingling.

They will also take an opportunity to showcase different instruments and help audiences understand what they do, what they sound like and what to listen out for.

Then, at 7pm, the band will perform a full-length concert packed with carols and songs, and a huge selection of great arrangements of popular festive music, cosy fireside winter warmers, audience carols and maybe just a hint of fun too.

Woodley Concert Band chair, Vicky Robson, said: “There’s nothing that makes you feel more festive than Christmas music and we always have amazing feedback from our Christmas concerts – more than 250 people attended our Children’s concert last year.

“As a band, we always put on a fabulous show for our Christmas concerts and this year is going to be no exception.

“We love being able to share a bit of musical joy and with just a week to go until Christmas, these concerts will be the perfect way to get the festive party started.”

The children’s concert costs £8 for adults and £2 for children, and the evening concert costs £14, or

£12 for concessions.

The band also offer free tickets to the evening concert for people who have never attended a Woodley Concert Band concert before.
