How they rated
DAVID BUTTON
Didn’t have an awful lot to do. Couldn’t have done anything with the Oxford goal, which was their only shot on target.
ANDY YIADOM
Used his experience to stay composed at the back. Delivered a good cross at the near post for Smith which led to a good chance.
NELSON ABBEY
Not at his usual best. Nearly caught out by Mark Harris early in the second-half but was rescued by Button.
TOM HOLMES
Got drawn out to the ball which left space in behind as Craig had to cover and commit a foul. Booked for a mistimed tackle.
JERIEL DORSETT
Didn’t get tight enough to his man to stop the cross which led to Oxford’s opener. Taken off for Mbengue in the 58th minute.
MICHAEL CRAIG
Booked for cynically stopping an Oxford attack when trying to amend for Holmes’ error. Taken off in the 67th minute for Charlie Savage.
LEWIS WING
Played a brilliant weighted pass through to find Smith for the equaliser. A much quieter secondhalf performance.
HARVEY KNIBBS
Worked relentlessly to press Oxford’s backline. Got into a couple of good positions in the box but had shots blocked.
FEMI AZEEZ
Some really bright moments in attack, including some driving runs forward. Missed a big chance from close range.
CAYLAN VICKERS
A peripheral figure for too much of the game. A couple of promising moments but struggled to get involved too often.
SAM SMITH
Timed his run expertly to break the Oxford line and showed fine composure to apply the finish. Wasn’t given enough service.
