BERKS COUNTY KEEP MOMENTUM IN TITLE HUNT, AND ASHRIDGE DENIED IN CUP EXIT

ASCOT UNITED are now level on points with table toppers Bournemout­h Sports after they were held to a draw by Winchester City Flyers.

Going into the game against the side in second bottom, the Yellas found themselves trailing by a goal at half-time.

Alisa Sheppard scored the leveller just five minutes after the restart, but the visitors looked to have snatched the game when they retook the lead in the 84th minute.

Sheppard popped up with another equaliser, this time in the 90th minute to rescue a point.

Southern Region Women’s Division One North

EVERSLEY & CALIFORNIA bagged their first win of the season with a home victory over Beaconsfie­ld Town.

Goals from Keira Lourdes, Macey-Nikiah Walters and Darcey Young helped the Boars to a 4-2 success.

CAVERSHAM UNITED also picked up their first three points of the campaign with a home win against Penn &

Tylers Green.

The Goats trailed but levelled the game up with a goal from Kate Stewart.

Caversham scored the winner late in the day with a stunning free-kick from Freya Jenkins.

Thames Valley Women’s Division One

WARGRAVE moved into fourth place with an away success at Carterton.

Millie Whitmee scored a Sian Blissett netted a double to help Wargrave to a 3-1 victory on the road to put them on to 22 points from 15 games.

BBFA Women’s Trophy

ASHRIDGE PARK were knocked out of the cup after suffering a 4-3 away defeat to Wallingfor­d & Crowmarsh.

Ashridge almost pulled off what would have been an exceptiona­l comeback

Lucy Thompson’s goal for Ashridge had made it 1-1 at the break, but three goals from Wallingfor­d looked to have taken the tie away from Ashridge.

However, at 4-1 down, Ashridge fought back valiantly with a quickfire double from Laura Comerford bringing it back to 4-3 with 10 minutes to go.

But the hosts held on to progress to the final. Thames Valley Women’s Division 3S

FINCHAMPST­EAD continued their magnificen­t run at the top of the table by winning their 12th match in 13 games.

Finch scored five times to win 5-1 on their away trip to Ruislip Rangers 2s.

Chloe Bagshaw and Ebony Day both struck doubles and Matilda Richards also scored.

AFC READING hit seven to take three points in an entertaini­ng 7-4 game with Taplow United.

WARGRAVE RESERVES remain in ninth position after they collected an away point in a goalless draw with bottom of the table Barton Rovers.

Thames Valley Women’s Developmen­t

BERKS COUNTY kept their momentum in the title race with a comfortabl­e home success against Stanford in the Vale.

Leanne Harkins, Kiah Owen and Kiana Proietti were all on the scoresheet for the Swords in the 3-0 victory.

County are in second spot and are just three points off league leaders Rotherfiel­d United.

ARBORFIELD added a point to their total in a 2-2 draw with Wraysbury Village with a Suzanne Darling double.
