I feel sorry for Conservatives

-

I feel sorry for the Conservatives, most are honourable people who genuinely want the best for our borough and country. Sadly for them, their time is up.

You only get a little time to show how you can run the council and the country. I have been canvassing and they often tell me that they are Conservative voters but they can’t vote for this Conservative Party. Lots of people are undecided.

The Lib Dems in Wokingham have had some time to manage the council and have found the going tough, finances are a challenge, car park charge increases, refuse collections, public bins and rubbish in general.

More car park charges to come? Larger bins to come and more financial challenges. The Conservatives say they have enough money.

Cllr Stephen Conway is an honourable man and has found the finances and managing the council a big job where partnership is needed.

The Conservative voters and all the voters have a choice on May 2. It’s time for the public to say how they feel and who they want as councillors. Labour is part of that.

Working in partnership has been a theme I subscribe to. We all need to work together as people who want the very best for our borough. Voters want solutions to their problems and not petty squabbling. Problems such as potholes, anti-social behaviour, crime, rubbish collection, adult social care, education need solutions and car park charges are part of that.

The Conservatives have had their time, the Lib Dems have had their time and people have had time to assess both.

At national level, the Conservatives have had their time and people want change. Reform have arrived and reform there will be.

The British people will soon tell us what they think of the Conservatives after 14 long years.

Time for a change and renewal. We must all work together in partnership to make improvements and make the borough a happier place to live in. Greg Bello, Councillor, Woodley

Town Council
