Stella sparkles at her 101st

-

A BOROUGH centenarian celebrated her special birthday with family and fellow residents at Shinfield View Care Home, run by Berkley Care Group.

Deeply connected to her Finchley roots and a proud Londoner, Stella Jacobs was joined by her son Mel, his wife Gill, granddaughter Sara and her great-grandsons.

Celebrations for her 101st birthday were enjoyed by the assembled family, and fellow residents.

They included afternoon tea in the home’s bistro area, with balloons, and flowers, followed by an impressive birthday cake from the kitchen team.

Jodie Whatmore, general manager of Shinfield View, said: “Stella’s birthday celebration was a heart-warming testament to the vibrant and caring community at Shinfield View.

“Seeing Stella surrounded by her family, enjoying music and laughter, exemplifies the spirit of our home.

“Each resident’s happiness and wellbeing are our top priorities, and it’s moments like these that remind us of the beauty in celebrating life at every stage.”

Stella has been a resident at Shinfield View for more than seven years and is known and loved for her cheeky sense of humour and her zest for life.

Born and raised in Finchley, she often remembers her late husband Bob, a dedicated fireman, and the time they spent together.

Stella particularly loves the music of Vera Lynn and often sings renditions of Stevie Wonder’s hit, Isn’t She Lovely.

Ms Whatmore continued: “Stella has been a beacon of joy and resilience in our community.

“We were honoured to mark this milestone with her and pay tribute to the incredible life she’s had.

“Here’s to creating more unforgettable memories together.”
