INTERIOR designer and television presenter Anouska Lancaster opened an online silent charity auction to raise funds for Kaleidoscopic UK.

The borough charity supports children and adult survivors of domestic violence, both locally and throughout England and Wales.

It provides holistic, openended support for all victim survivors throughout their recovery journey.

Ms Lancaster is the charity’s newest patron.

She said: “Being a patron of Kaleidoscopic means so much to me.

“It’s an opportunity to turn the darkness I experienced into light, by helping others.

“I like to turn every negative in my life into a positive so that good can come from it.

“The money raised in this auction will go directly to helping victims and survivors of domestic violence like me.

“When I wasn’t strong and I was afraid, I needed people to hold my hand and guide me, and that’s what we offer through Kaleidoscopic.

“We offer a safe place and solitude.

“If we can give adults and children an escape from the physical and emotional trauma they are experiencing, even for an hour a week, through friendship and support then we’ve made a huge difference in someone’s life.

“I used to look forward to my support group every week when I fled my abusive relationship, as it was an hour with people to lift me up, listen, educate me and give me the strength to keep going.

“It’s my turn right now give back and be the light for others who need my help.”

People can support Kaleidoscopic UK, by visiting the silent auction, placing bids and finding themselves a bargain.

Items to bid for include: a seven-night stay at holiday destinations, exotic designer wallpaper rolls, framed art, live show tickets, therapy sessions, and decorative household items.

Charity founder Vickie Robertson, said: “Our first-ever silent auction will help raise much needed funds to help us continue our work, and to expand to meet the need we’re currently facing.

“We’re blown away by, and so grateful for all the incredible donations, the support, kindness, and generosity of all who have made this possible.”

All proceeds go directly to support the needs of those subjected to domestic abuse.

Bidding for the silent auction will close on Sunday, May 6.
