ROYALS FACE FINAL AWAY DAY TRIP AT RELEGATION BATTLING BREWERS

- By ANDY PRESTON apreston@wokingham.today

READING FC face their final away trip of the season on Saturday up against relegation threatened Burton Albion.

Having secured their own

League One survival last weekend with an away point at promotion chasing Barnsley, the Royals can now look to push as high up the table as possible in their final two remaining games.

Meanwhile, the Brewers are still in a fight to try and stay in the division and their hopes took a hit on Tuesday night with a costly defeat to fellow relegation strugglers Cheltenham Town.

After going ahead on the stroke of half-time through Steve Seddon, second-half goals from Matt Taylor and Curtis Davies turned the game on its head to see Cheltenham take all three points as they cut the gap.

The loss leaves Burton just two points above the drop zone and Cheltenham have a game in hand to play meaning that Albion’s fate is no longer in their own hands.

In their meeting earlier in the campaign, the Royals and the Brewers shared the points in a goalless draw back in September as Reading endured a difficult start to the season.

Heading into this weekend, Reading are in much different shape and have lost just once in

their last six league matches.

Selles’ team also are on the longest scoring run in the entire football league having found the net in their last 18 matches.

The last side to prevent Reading from scoring were

Wigan Athletic back in January.

Reading will be hoping to have club captain Andy Yiadom back in contention after he missed out on the draw.

Joel Pereira should also be available for selection after being withdrawn at half-time against Barnsley after receiving a cut above his eye.

Predicted Reading line-up: Pereira, Yiadom, Bindon, Mbengue, Mola, Elliott, Wing, Knibbs, Azeez, Ehibhatiomhan, Smith
