CROWTHORNE Rugby Club has secured a £1,000 sponsorship deal with local housebuilder Vistry Thames Valley.

The funding will enable the club, which plays its home matches at The Nest on Lower Broadmoor Road, to upgrade its facilities and continue its investment in developing local talent.

Vistry is building 85 new homes in the village under its Bovis Homes brand at the Buckler’s Park location off Nine Mile Ride, around three miles from the rugby club.

Joe Pavitt, chairman of Crowthorne Rugby Club, said: “I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Vistry for their generous sponsorship for the 2023 and 2024 season.

“Their support plays a crucial role in the advancement and development of grassroots rugby within our club.

“It enables us to nurture local talent, improve our facilities, and enhance the experience for both our players and supporters.

“Partnerships like this are vital for community sports clubs like Crowthorne RFC, and we are incredibly grateful for Vistry’s commitment to supporting grassroots rugby.”

The club, which moved to its current home at The Nest in 2019, has two adult sides – a men’s team and a women’s team – and is also looking to develop a youth section for boys and girls.

Alix Laflin, marketing manager for Vistry Thames Valley, said: “We are committed to supporting the local communities where we build new homes and our sponsorship of Crowthorne Rugby Club is a clear demonstration of that.

“The club plays an important role in the life of the village, providing opportunities for both men and women to engage in competitive sport.

“We wish both teams all the best for the remainder of the season and hope that our sponsorship helps to make it a successful campaign on and off the pitch.”
