Tips for creating the perfecT dressing Table 1 2

w&h homes editor Jennifer Morgan has this advice…

-

make-up brushes look great in pretty pen pots like the alphabet ones at pentreath & Hall, £40.

the best dressing tables are antique or vintage.

Go to 1st Dibs and you’ll find a treasure trove of wonderful designs with plenty of drawers. or look at Habitat’s emil, £595, or ada, £349, at made.com

around a dressing table, you need good task lighting, with side lights either side of a large mirror, to provide even light to both sides of your face. these can be decorative pendants, or if you want to go all-out Hollywood glam, then frame your mirror with showtime bulbs (you can’t beat musik, £18, Ikea).

When it comes to lighting, the best position for a dressing table is under a window, but if this doesn’t work in your bedroom, a top trick is to move your dressing table to the wall opposite the window and use a big mirror to reflect the natural light.
