What are you most looking forward to next year? i have two months’ research leave in rome, which will give me the opportunity to finish a book i’ve been writing, on images of roman emperors in modern art, from the 15th century to now. What are you most looking forward to in 2019? i wrote two books in 2018 – disastrous for my fitness and stress levels – so i’m looking forward to making the most of where i live on the coast. so that’s being brave enough to try kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and maybe even some moonlit wild swimming! it’s all there waiting for me. What are you most looking forward to in 2019? i am massively looking forward to season 3 of The Crown. i didn’t think that delicious thing could get any more delicious, but now it’s going to have olivia colman in it. god save the Queen!
