‘Mac softened up our family dynamics’

-

Jill Fraser, 56, is a craniosacral therapist from Biggar, south lanarkshire. she and her partner, ian, have a daughter, eilidh, 19. they welcomed labradoodle Mac into their lives nine years ago.

Mac is our first family dog. He has added a new dimension and softened up the family dynamics, especially when Eilidh and I went through some challenging times around her early teens – and, let’s be honest, around my early fifties. Going out for a walk together with Mac often opened up the space for the mood to lighten – he’s definitely our family “therapet”. Getting outdoors with him every day has huge benefits for my physical and mental wellbeing too. Mac totally embodies being in the moment – which is so much what my work as a therapist is about. I find his presence incredibly grounding and know he helps me keep some perspective on what really matters in life.
