“We can change the world one child at a time”
June O’sullivan MBe, who is in her fifties, is CeO of london early Years Foundation, the largest social enterprise nursery group in the uK. Under her leadership, the charity’s annual turnover has increased from £2 million to
£22 million. June was awarded an
MBE in the Queen’s Birthday honours in 2013 for her services to children. June says “As a young single parent, my first experience of nurseries was positively unkind. It left an indelible mark on me and I vowed that I would do something to create nurseries that were wonderfully inclusive places for all children, but especially those from poor and disadvantaged families. We are now the largest social enterprise nursery group in the UK, with 37 nurseries currently providing for 4,500 children, 40% of whom access subsidised places. We continue to develop and grow, and show that our model can change the world one child at a time.”
