‘LEN GOODMAN PRESENTED MY DANCING PRIZE!’
Looking back at this picture from 1988, I can hardly believe it’s me, though I remember the event as if it were yesterday. As a young girl, dancing was my life. I went to competitions all over the country and this was a big event, so I was especially proud to receive this medal from a young Len Goodman. My two friends and I had made it to the final. We were so nervous, but then our song – What A Feeling by Irene Cara – struck up. We looked at each other and smiled. It was the soundtrack to our dancing years and we loved it. After dancing our hearts out, we came second. Even now, when I hear that song on the radio,
I can’t help but dance and remember how alive it made me feel.
