Woman&Home Feel Good You

Are you a... BUSY BEE?

-

The number one reason people say they don’t exercise is having no time. While it may seem like an excuse, our busy lives, including long working hours, looking after the kids/parents and trying to hold on to a social life, mean working out gets put on the back-burner. It can be tough to find time to exercise, so here are a few hacks to squeeze some into even the busiest of schedules.

✢ Work out at home

Personal trainer Amy Tarr recommends starting your fitness journey from your living room. It will cut travel time and it means you can fit it in more easily to your hectic timetable. “Body weight exercises like squats, lunges and tricep dips are a fantastic introduction to resistance training,” she says. ✢ Less is more

If you have your mind set on an hour-long workout, you may struggle to fit it in and therefore skip exercising altogether. If you don’t have long chunks of time, mark out as many 10-minute increments as you can where you can do some activity. Use it to climb stairs, do squats, a speed walk around the block or yoga stretches. Then see how many you can fit into seven days. Two per day gives you 140 minutes of exercise a week.
