STARRY NIGHT BISCUITS

Watch these magical celestial biscuits disappear before your very eyes!

Makes 20 • Ready in 30mins, plus chilling

250g unsalted butter, softened 150g caster sugar

350g plain flour

½tsp turmeric powder for the decoration:

200g dark chocolate

100g white chocolate zest of 2 oranges gold shimmer spray you will need: star cookie cutters in various sizes

1 Heat the oven to 190C/Gas Mark 5. Cream the butter and sugar until pale and light. Mix in the flour and turmeric, wrap in cling film and chill for 20mins.

2 Roll out the dough to 2-3mm and cut out stars. Place them onto a lined baking tray and bake for 8mins. Cool on the tray.

3 To decorate, melt the chocolate in separate heatproof bowls, each set over a pan of gently simmering water.

4 In a third bowl, combine dollops of the chocolate to create a marble effect.

5 Dip the front of each biscuit into the chocolate, sprinkle with orange zest and leave to cool on a rack. Finish by spraying the biscuits with gold glitter.
