‘I’m looking forward to devouring Louise Candlish’s new thriller’

Bestselling author Jane lives in London with her partner Ricky Gervais and their cat Ollie. Where are you going? I’ve never been a fan of beach holidays. I’m no good at lying around trying to relax. I find it very unrelaxing. My ideal destination is a new city to explore – Lisbon, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Reykjavik, San Francisco and Toulouse have featured among my favourites – and this year I’m planning to get to know Helsinki and Austin, Texas. I love Scandinavia at any time of year, but there’s something magical about it in the summer. It’s as if the season is so short that everyone knows exactly how to make the best of it.

What will you be reading? I always take a couple of books (and a phone full of more for when I run out). This year I’m looking forward to devouring Louise Candlish’s new thriller, Those People, and My Lovely Wife by new writer Samantha Downing, which looks intriguing.
