Novelist and former teacher Rosanna Ley lives in West Dorset with her artist husband. Where are you going? I’m going to Sicily. We’re staying in the beautiful baroque town of Noto, a great base for exploring the south of the island. I first went to North West Sicily some years ago to research The Villa and fell hopelessly in love. Fabulous beaches, unspoilt villages, gorgeous palaces, crumbling temples, ancient amphitheatres… not to mention delicious Italian food.

What will you be reading? I’m building quite a collection on Kindle. So far I have Watching You by Lisa Jewell (a classy writer who never lets you down), Maggie O’Farrell’s latest book I Am, I Am, I Am (she is my favourite wordsmith) and, to get properly into the Italian vibe,
