Hello & welcome!
Hello and welcome to my first issue of woman & home. It’s a privilege to know that many of you will take the time to read this letter, so I guess I’d better make it interesting!
As soon as my two young daughters, Bee, 10, and Ivy, seven, found out I was working on a new title, they wanted to see what woman & home was all about. Ivy fell in love with last year’s December issue. She especially loved the festive cover, complete with our child models. Ivy always has a hidden agenda (yes, even at seven), and she has been campaigning ever since to appear on the next Christmas cover – so watch this space!
I’d also like to take this opportunity to reassure you I plan to build on the great work previous editor Kath began, making w&h the fantastic title it is today. But I also have lots of new ideas, which I hope you’ll love too. I’m currently involved in research where the w&h team are touring the country, getting to meet you, our readers! This is one of my favourite parts of being an editor. How else could we create a magazine you’ll want to read without finding out what you’re interested in?
In addition, I want to create an ongoing dialogue between you, the team here and myself. So you’ll see that from now on I will be including my email address at the end of this letter so you can get in touch with me, whenever you have the time, and tell me what you think about the issue – good or bad!
As part of this initiative, from our September issue, we’ll be also introducing a brand new page called
‘My favourite part of being an editor is meeting and hearing from you, our readers’
