Beauty experts reveal their must-have products

Alarge part – and perk – of a beauty editor’s job is road-testing the latest products. And because there’s always something new to try, we seldom finish a product before moving on to the next. So when we do use something down to its last drop, you know it’s good! From the foundation we’ve been using for years to the sunscreen that ticks all the boxes, the w&h beauty team and industry professionals share their best beauty buys.

1 FIONA MCKIM, beauty editor

Most face masks make me roll my eyes – they’re no match for a good skincare routine. Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin Clay Mask, £38, is different. It’s got clays to tighten, oils to nourish and that tilbury magic dust that makes everything she creates glow-inducing. It clears my pores without leaving my skin parched or coated in residue. I won’t go to a party (or leave the house the morning after) without it.

2 ATEH JEWEL, Award-winning beauty journalist and blogger

I’m a blush fanatic. there is no quicker way to brighten up your face and look fresh, healthy and groomed. I love deep rich berry tones that pop on my skin, and the non-toxic one from Balmyard Beauty, Baby Love Balm Lip + Cheek Tint, £25, goop.com, is perfect. It’s laced with Caribbean hibiscus, nourishing coconut oil and cocoa butter, and can be used on lips too.

3 STEPHANIE MAYLOR, beauty editor

I love BareMinerals BareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer, £24. Concealer wasn’t on my radar until the birth of my daughter, after which I needed something to neutralise my permanent under-eye rings. With an integrated serum, it’s silky and lightweight. It doesn’t cake in the lines around my eyes, and if I apply it with a damp beauty blender, £19, the finish is even smoother.

4 CHARLEY WILLIAMSHOWITT, beauty director

I’ve lost count of the number of moisturisers I’ve tried, all promising to make me look younger. but then Olay Regenerist Whip Cream, £23.32, landed on my desk. I was hooked at first dip. the creamy texture that becomes a liquid has had a transformational effect on me. It’s like a primer, leaving my complexion shine-free and even-toned, and after a month of use, it has firmed up slack bits, and made my face look fresher and less tired-looking. I’m sold!

5 NADINE BAGGOTT, beauty journalist and TV presenter

I can’t live without mascara. the older I get, the more my eyes need definition, so my must-have is what I call ‘stripper lash’ mascara, which packs on the volume while being smudgeproof. I love Benefit BADgal BANG! Volumising Mascara, £22 – one coat has you looking less tired, with eyes that have been emphasised no end. >>
