Woman&Home Feel Good You

IF THE BOOT FITS…

Heading off-road? It’s essential you wear the right footwear.

1

Make sure you have enough room around the foot for comfort. It should feel secure, with no heel lift. But your toes should have enough room for movement and shouldn’t be pressing uncomfortably into the front of the boot.

2

Try your boots on in the afternoon. A day in the hills causes your feet to expand slightly, so trying them on later in the day will give you a more realistic idea of how they feel when they’re warmed up and you need comfort the most.

3

If you’re stepping on well-trodden paths, then choose a lightweight boot with a reasonable amount of flexibility. But if you’re trekking on uneven, steep ground, you’ll need a more rigid boot with good ankle support.
