ACCEPT AND APPRECIATE

Settle yourself comfortably, sitting or lying down. Bring your attention to your breath and feel the rise and fall of your body as you breathe in and breathe out.

Once settled, begin by focusing on your nose and mouth. Appreciate the functions that they perform all day, every day, allowing you to breathe, to smell, and to taste.

Gently bring your attention to your eyes and ears. Consider how important they are to you every day of your life – how they allow you to see and hear the ones you love.

Consider your brain and how vital it is to every waking and sleeping moment; how it is the most incredible organ. Bring appreciation and gratitude to your brain.

Move your attention to your spine and take time to appreciate the complexity of that vital central support structure that carries your neck and head so effortlessly.

Bring appreciation to your arms, hands, legs, and feet. Then turn your attention to your torso, to the vulva and vagina, the organs of the pelvis, and send loving kindness.

Bring your focus to your lungs and back to the breath, then take a moment to appreciate the wonder of your lungs and the function that they perform.

Place your hands over your heart and send thanks for its magnificence. Appreciate the wonder of your body and how it supports you.

Visualise appreciation and gratitude flowing to every part of your unique body, then let your focus return to the breath. Slowly open your eyes to finish.
