Merry Little Christmas is such an emotional song. And the part Through the years, We all will be together, If the fates allow makes me cry. This Christmas particularly, where we don’t know what circumstances we’ll be in with lockdown, it feels especially appropriate.

I have really happy memories of Wizzard’s I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday because when I started at GMTV all those years ago, Wizzard would come and perform live every Christmas Eve.

It’s one of my campaigns to try and bring them back to Good Morning Britain.

Our Good Morning Britain Christmas parties tend to be a lunch because we’ve all been up since the early hours. But everyone really comes together – all the presenters, the editors and the team we work with – dresses up and has fun.

Usually New Year is a great night to party, after cosy nights in over Christmas, but since the kids have been around it’s harder because of babysitters. So recently, we’ve tended to get friends together, stay at each other’s houses and let the kids stay up as late as they want to. Which is often later than I want to!
