2005

After training at BBC Look North and appearing on Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff, Kate moves over to BBC News.

2008

She presents BBC News at One while Sophie Raworth is on maternity leave.

2012

Kate interviews Prince William, the royal patron of wildlife charity Tusk Trust, who calls for a halt to poachers killing rhinos for their horns in Africa.

2013

Kate takes over as deputy presenter on

BBC News at One while Sian Williams is on leave – but then stays in the position.
