When lesley’s 11-year-old son thomas was killed in a traffic accident, she was determined to make a difference in his honour – and has so far raised funds for 21 nhs helipads. “10,000 people have been saved as a result of the helipads,” lesley says. “i can’t believe i’ve been awarded for just doing what i do – but i’ve had the most amazing time.” lesley loved being styled for the ceremony and describes herself as “a big believer in dressing up for special occasions. i am all about ‘the dress’ – and this one was so elegant. i felt a million dollars.”
