Alison Gray, 68, is ready to hit the open road thanks to her Woman Bingo win
one monday in august last year, I had a morning waiting in at home ahead of me, as a man was coming round to install cavity-wall insulation. ‘How boring,’ I thought, but needs must.
Some neighbours had already had it done and told me someone needed to be in while it was installed and that it was really loud. So, with watching TV out because of the noise, I knew just the thing I could enjoy – I’d play a few games of Woman Bingo!
As a member for about five years, I’ve tried out lots of different games, but that day I thought Session Bingo would be good. You buy a ticket that lasts for an hour, so you can play games throughout that time – the perfect way to have some me-time while the work was being done on my walls! To my surprise, my numbers got called and a message came up on the screen to tell me I was a winner. I was so shocked that my mind went blank. I hadn’t won a line, or two lines, but the full jackpot, and it wasn’t small either. In fact, it was a huge £10,452! I sat flabbergasted, staring at the screen. My husband was now home, but in his shed, or the ‘man cave’ as I call it. I shouted for him to come in and see me. As we checked the screen, we looked at each other in astonishment, and I hadn’t realised it, but tears of joy were running down my face. It was the most amazing and surreal feeling.
I withdrew the jackpot and, just a couple of days later, it was in my bank account, ready for me to spend it.

But with this huge amount of money, there was more to think about. For years, my husband and I had been saying how much we’d love a motor home. We wanted to travel around the country and visit the places we hadn’t seen before.
We’d been saving for years, but with the jackpot money in the bank, it meant our dream of a holiday home on wheels was becoming a reality.
We found one within a few weeks and went on our first trip to Yeo Valley with some of our grandchildren, taking a picnic of homemade burgers with us.

We have seven grandchildren in total, so we want to take each of them away in our motor home and explore the rest of the UK together. The best thing is that we’re making family memories to last a lifetime, thanks to the jackpot.

I still play regularly. The best thing about Woman Bingo is how friendly the site is. The other ‘roomies’ – as we call each other – always say hello when they see me log on. We talk about anything and everything – the games we like, the weather, our friends and families. It’s so sociable, so it’s more than just a bingo site to me. The chat hosts are so upbeat and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. When I logged in after my win, all the other roomies were congratulating me and asking me how I would spend my jackpot. I have tried other online bingo sites over the years, but I’ve never found anywhere as friendly as Woman Bingo. And what’s best is there are always good promotions and lots of chances to play free games once you’re a member.
