i have no control over what my family eats for lunch, so i eat scrambled eggs on toast and a fistful of spinach (still only 300 calories).
i scrupulously weigh out the lamb chops (323 cals per 100g), add broccoli and carrots (34 cals and 45 cals a cup, respectively), then get anxious about the mash, which is 30 cals a forkful. ten forkfuls each and we’ll go over the 600 limit! i serve eight forkfuls. everybody complains. pudding is home-made fruit salad, no cream. nobody notices. i make a note to serve it more often.
