What a Week!
Ever since she stepped into Prince Harry’s life, meghan markle’s charitable nature and feisty personality have had the world drawing comparisons between her and Princess Diana. So it’s no surprise that Harry, 33, and meghan, 36, made sure their big day paid tribute to her.
when meghan and guests entered St George’s Chapel in windsor Castle, they walked under an archway made of Diana’s favourite flowers – white roses. The new Duke and Duchess of Sussex also chose one of Princess Diana’s favourite hymns, Guide Me, O Thou Great
Redeemer, to be sung during the ceremony.
In another nod to his late mother, Harry invited her siblings, Earl Spencer, Sarah mccorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes to the big day, and asked Lady Jane to do a reading.
while meghan’s wedding dress was a far cry from the one Diana wore, she accessorised her second gown – by Stella mccartney – with a ring featuring an emerald-cut aquamarine from Diana’s personal collection. as a final tribute, rather than gifts the couple asked guests to donate to one of Diana’s chosen charities – The Children’s HIV association. She would have been so proud.
