relationship, family, medical and pet problems, resolved

afriend set me up with someone she knew from work. He’s smart, amusing and easy to be with. We agree on so much, including the films we like and what we enjoy doing on days off. So what’s the problem? Well, he made a throwaway remark about the moon landings being faked and I thought it was a joke. Then I realised he meant it. What do I do now?

Suzie says:

I’d find it hard to get close to someone who believes in conspiracy theories, but I’m not you. How does it make you feel? Amused? Aghast? nervous? Some conspiracy theories are worse than others. Thinking we never went to the moon is not too bad, unless it’s accompanied by a general distrust in science and provable facts. The undeniable fact is that it struck you as worrying. I tend to feel we need to listen to our instincts. If warning bells are ringing, heed them. Move on?
