when will i stop getting urine infections?
QI have had four urine infections this year and I have had enough! Why do I keep getting them and how can I stop them coming back?
Philippa says
aVisit your doctor to decide if investigations and potentially other treatments may be needed. They may offer you a blood test for diabetes – if there’s sugar in your urine you will be more likely to get urinary tract infections. If you’re post-menopausal, another cause can be the lower levels of oestrogen affecting the skin of the vulva, making you more prone to infection. It may also be appropriate to consider a low-dose daily antibiotics as a form of prophylaxis to try and stop infections developing.
